Eat less salt A little salt is necessary for health but recent studies suggest that we eat much more than we need. Too much salt may lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and strokes. Some salt occurs naturally in food, more may be added when it is prepared and many add salt to food at the table. Watch out for salt in processed foods (even apparently sweet products). Read the label and look for products with no added salt. Aim to cut down by gradually reducing salt added in cooking and at the table. Eat more fibre.......key 1
