Diphtheria And Tetanus Vaccination This vaccination is given at 2, 3 & 4 months with a booster at age 4 years. Diphtheria is a serious disease which causes severe breathing difficulties. Tetanus causes convulsions and violent muscle spasms. Both diseases are often fatal even with expert medical care. The vaccinations are safe and side effects are very uncommon.
