Rubella (German Measles) Vaccine This vaccination is given to girls at school at about age 12. Rubella is a mild disease but can have very serious effects on the baby if a woman has the disease when she is pregnant. All girls should have this vaccination even if they think they have had German Measles. Women who have not been vaccinated can have a blood test to see if they are already immune to Rubella. If they are not the vaccine can be given but then pregnancy should be avoided for 3 months. Ask your doctor or a family planning clinic. Key 1 for TB vaccination or 0 index
