Offline Database

Healthdata was also available as a disc based offline database, also in the viewdata format.  It seems as if it was mostly a copy of the online content, so we present it here for your delight and access..

            Coughs and Colds

The best way to soothe an irritating
cough or to clear a thick discharge
from the nose is to inhale steam. Get
a bowl of steaming water and breathe in
the steam with a towel over your head.
Do this as often as you like but take
 care not to get scalded.

If you have a fever you should take
paracetamol - ask your pharmacist. You
should drink plenty, even if you don't
 feel like eating very much.

Children who cough at night should be
encouraged to lie on their front or
side to try and prevent the mucous from
running down the back of the throat.
