Offline Database

Healthdata was also available as a disc based offline database, also in the viewdata format.  It seems as if it was mostly a copy of the online content, so we present it here for your delight and access..

Do note that this information is at least 20 years old.  Please do not rely on anything in here as current medical advice; for that please visit the NHS website.

   Period Pains

The pain always seems worse if you
 are unhappy or depressed.

Period pains are often worse in the
first few months after a coil has been
fitted. Many women find period pains
less severe when they take the pill.

It is not worth taking the pill just
for period pains, but if you do need
contraception it is worth considering a
combined pill when choosing a method.

If you are concerned about period
pains there is a lot you can do to help
yourself. It is often helpful to think
how you feel about your periods.
